Leicester Rathayatra 2009
02/08/09 11:30 Filed in: Festival
This year we will be celebrating Rathayatra in Leicester on
Sunday, August 2.
On this day Lord Krishna (Jagannatha) together with His brother Balarama and sister Subhadra come out of the temple on a huge chariot to shower their mercy on the whole world.
This year, for the second year running in Leicester, we will have 3 chariots, so there will be plenty of opportunity to join in the fun & help to pull them!
The procession will leave the Clock Tower in the City Centre at 11:30 am, and there will be a free festival at the end of the procession in Cossington Park.
